The Vidette Newspaper Archive at Milner Library holds the digitized pages of the campus newspaper of Illinois State University. The archive currently holds approximately seventy-five volumes covering issues from the first edition in February 1888 to 1980 with additional volumes planned for inclusion. The entire run of The Vidette can be found both in microfilm and physical formats at Milner Library. Patrons wishing to view the newspaper in person can visit Milner Library to research the microfilm copy or contact the Dr. Jo Ann Rayfield Archives to make an appointment to view the paper format.
Through the efforts of the Milner Library’s Digital Collections department and in cooperation with Veridian, The Vidette was digitized and made available for research with plans for adding more volumes of the newspaper at a later date. This archive currently contains 4,622 issues comprising 47,055 pages.
