Alumni Library Privileges

Graduates of Illinois State University are able to use some of Milner Library’s resources. You can access selected research databases through a partnership between the Alumni Association and Milner Library. You may be able to continue to borrow books and other materials from Milner Library as well.

Graduates who reside in McLean, Ford, Piatt, Dewitt, Logan, Tazewell, Woodford, and Livingston counties can get a courtesy card. This gives you borrowing privileges for books, DVDs, Teaching Material Center items and other materials from Milner Library. Graduates who live outside of the area may be able to get a courtesy card from another academic library closer to home. Anyone can use these materials while at Milner Library.

Business Source Alumni Edition can help you with personal and professional research for free. This is similar to the databases current ISU students have access to. You can access full-text articles from over 3600 journals and publications after logging in. Subject areas include accounting, chemistry, economics, education, engineering, finance, law, management, marketing, music, psychology, technology, and more.

You also gain access to TeachingBooks, which includes 88,000+ engaging digital resources, such as lessons, book readings, and video, curated to enrich K12 literacy instruction.

To get access to these databases, you will need to login with your ISU OpenAthens Alumni Account. To request an ISU OpenAthens Alumni Account, submit the Request to Access Milner's Alumni Database form. Once your alumni status is confirmed and your account is created, you will receive an email from noreply@openathens.net asking you to activate your ISU OpenAthens Alumni Account.
