In the early 1970s, Dr. Barry Moore (1933-2014) expanded his full time teaching responsibilities at Illinois State University to include curating the fledgling International Collection of Child Art. His appreciation of the visual expressions of children was a natural extension of his expertise in education and preparing students to teach art in the classroom. Future generations will continue to learn and benefit from Dr. Moore's dedicated enthusiasm and deeply held respect and appreciation he shared for the art of the child.

Grant funding from the Illinois State Library has been awarded to Milner Library to digitize the International Collection of Child Art.  The grant was awarded by the Illinois State Library, a division of the Office of Secretary of State, using funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, under the federal Library Services and Technology Act. Learn more about our digital collection.
