Requesting From Storage
Due to space limitations in public areas of Milner Library, some library materials are housed in one of two storage facilities.
Both storage facilities are closed to the public for safety and security reasons, and Library staff will retrieve storage materials for you.
Most materials can be requested using either version of the library catalog. However when requesting a microform that does not have an individual item record, you will be required to place the request in Milner Catalog (Classic), utilizing the note field to specify the date, volume number, etc. For assistance requesting storage materials, please contact the Service Desk at (309) 438-3451.

When Requested Items are Available to You
When a requested item is ready for pick up, you will receive an email notification. The item is available for pick up at the Service Desk, and will be held for two weeks.
Storage Basement items are retrieved at regular intervals throughout the day. Most requests are filled within a few hours. In some cases (including late night requests), your request may not be filled until the next day.
Storage North items are delivered to the library via Campus Mail, and are generally available two business days after the date of the request. Please note that retrievals do not occur on weekends or days when the library is closed.
