The annual homecoming parade is beloved tradition at most academic institutions. Usually held in the Fall, a homecoming parade celebrates the return of alumni to campus while supporting the school’s team in an afternoon rivalry game.
Hundreds line the streets to cheer as festive floats, street performers, and a marching band excite the crowd and prepare them for a day full of food, excitement, and reunions. At Illinois State University, the annual homecoming parade has taken on many themes, promised the defeat of our visiting rivals, and has been the highlight of the Redbird homecoming tradition.
