This exhibit, curated by the ISU Art History Society, displays work from ISU students, alumni, and faculty. "Envisioning Poetry" features ten artists and nine poets who worked together to make creative pairings of visual art and the written word. Instead of isolating studio artwork, we wanted to show how collaboration between two different disciplines can come together to showcase different forms of creativity. The purpose of this exhibit is to address how both poetry and visual art can be used to represent multiple themes, narratives, and emotions. In addition, it gives students the opportunity to display their work and obtain a valuable experience.
Related programming will include a poetry reading on April 23rd at 5:00 pm in the exhibition area on Milner's main floor.
