There have been three yearbooks in Illinois State University's history: The Index (1892–1972), the New Student Record (1975–1994), and the Graduate Record (1975–1993). Below is a list of these yearbooks with links to online copies. The Index and New Student Record are listed in full. For the Graduate Record, volumes 1984–1988 and 1992 were either not published, or none were available for digitization. These yearbooks were digitized and made available in 2012 with support from the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI).

Yearbooks of University High School and Thomas Metcalf School
At Illinois State Normal University’s (ISNU) founding in 1857, a grammar school (Metcalf) and a high school (University High) classroom laboratory were opened to give the university’s teaching students hands-on training. The first yearbook for ISNU debuted in 1892, listing students both from the university and the laboratory schools. University High School began printing their yearbook, The Clarion, in 1929 and has continued to print the annual book to present day. The Thomas Metcalf School Yearbook collection runs from 1975 to 2004, with the exception of a missing copy for the 1980-1981 school year.
