star Art and Architecture Complete 1875 to present
A research database for the study of art and architecture. It has been designed for use by a diverse audience that includes art scholars, artists, designers, college students, and general researchers. This database covers a wide variety of pertinent subjects, including antiques, art and art history, interior and landscape design, and much more. It includes the full text of over 350 periodicals and 220 books as well as indexing for over 800 journals, magazines and trade publications.

    Art Abstracts 1984 to present
Covers more than 450 international art publications including journals, yearbooks, museum bulletins; and reproductions of works of art that appear in indexed periodicals. Updated monthly. Provides citations and abstracts. For older material see Art Index Retrospective.

    Art Index Retrospective 1929-1984
Covers more than 285 periodicals including yearbooks and museum bulletins; reproductions of works of art that appear in indexed periodicals. For newer material see Art Abstracts. Provides citations and abstracts.

star Oxford Art Online
Provides access to the entire text of The Dictionary of Art, ed. Turner (1996, 34 vols.), the Oxford Companion to Western Art, ed. Brigstocke (2001), the Encyclopedia of Aesthetics, and the Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms; ongoing additions of new and updated articles, 5,000 searchable images displayed in the text of articles, and image links. Note: the current subscription allows 8 users at a time to access the database.

star JSTOR
JSTOR holds the complete digitized back runs of core scholarly journals, starting with the very first issues, and offers high-resolution, scanned images of journal issues and pages as they were originally designed, printed, and illustrated. Of the available JSTOR collections, Milner has 11 multi-disciplinary collections (Arts and Sciences I through XI) and two discipline-specific collections (Ecology & Botany, Health & General Sciences). JSTOR Current Scholarship Program provides subscription access to current issues of 34 journals within these collections.

    Bibliography of the History of Art
BHA on the Getty Web site offers comprehensive art bibliography, covering European and American visual arts from late antiquity through 2009. Encompasses the fine arts as well as decorative and applied arts.

Coverage includes both BHA (covering 1990-2007) and the International Bibliography of Art (IBA), covering the years 2008 and part of 2009. The Repertoire de la litterature de l'art (RILA), one of the predecessors of BHA, with records that cover 1975-1989, is also available.

    Project Muse Premium Collection
Provides full text access to journals in the humanities, arts, and social sciences from 60 scholarly publishers. Coverage and update periods vary. Provides citation, abstracts, and full text. Project Muse is a not-for-profit collaboration between the participating publishers and the Milton S. Eisenhower Library at Johns Hopkins University.

    Humanities International Complete
Humanities International Complete is an invaluable resource for students, researchers, and educators interested in all aspects of the humanities, with worldwide content pertaining to literary, scholarly and creative thought. As well as including all data from Humanities International Index, Humanities International Complete includes full text for nearly 1200 journals.

star Artstor
The Artstor Digital Library provides more than one million digital images in the arts, architecture, humanities, and sciences with an accessible suite of software tools for teaching and research. The community-built collections comprise contributions from outstanding international museums, photographers, libraries, scholars, photo archives, and artists and artists' estates.

star Art and Culture Digital Collection prehistoric to the present
A locally produced database of images for use in the study and teaching of art, design, and material culture at Illinois State University. Includes views of sculpture, architecture, painting, and decorative art objects from European, American, Middle Eastern, Asian, African and Oceanic cultures dating from prehistoric times to the present. The images come from many sources, including published images, original images purchased or donated, and unique images selected and scanned from the slide library at the School of Art.

    CAMIO (Catalog of Art Museum Images Online)
CAMIO is a growing online collection documenting works of art from around the world, representing the collections of prominent museums (for example, Library of Congress, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art). CAMIO highlights the creative output of cultures around the world, from prehistoric to contemporary times, and covering the complete range of expressive forms.

    Bloomsbury Fashion Central
Bloomsbury Fashion Central formerly Berg Fashion Library is a unique online portal which offers fully cross-searchable access to an expanding range of content collections - including the Berg Encyclopedia of World Dress and Fashion online, e-books, reference works, images, and much more.

    Saskia Art Images
The Saskia Art Images is a collection of digital art images with a special emphasis on the core images required for teaching the history of Western Art. The collection contains 30,000 digital images of paintings, sculpture and architecture, including images from many important collections: the Prado, the Kunsthistorisches Museum, the Uffizi, and the Louvre as well as archaeological sites in Greece, Italy, Turkey and Egypt.

    International Collection of Child Art Digital Collection
This multicultural resource holds images of art created by children and adolescents representing more than fifty countries and cultures from Milner Library's International Collection of Child Art.

    Circus & Allied Art Digital Collection
The slides of Sverre "Bex" Braathen combine a "Passion for Circus" with the skills and artistry of photography at its finest. Images were captured in the saturated colors of Kodachrome slides and date from the early 1940s to the late 1950s. Set within the context of the entire Braathen collection, these images provide insight to what happens just outside the canvas flaps of the circus tent.

    Academic Search Complete 1887 to present
A scholarly, multi-disciplinary full-text database containing full text for more than 7,100 publications, including over 6,100 peer-reviewed journals. In addition to the full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for 11,200 journals and other publications including monographs, reports, and conference proceedings. The database features PDF content going back as far as 1887, with the majority of full text titles in native (searchable) PDF format.

    Black Thought and Culture
Black Thought and Culture provides approximately 100,000 pages of monographs, essays, articles, speeches, and interviews written by leaders within the black community from the earliest times to the present. Some of the authors include Frederick Douglass, W.E.B. Du Bois, Carter G. Woodson, Alain Locke, Mary McLeod Bethune, Booker T. Washington.

    North American Indian Thought and Culture
The database presents the life stories of American Indians and Canadian First Peoples in their own words and through the words of others. Soon to the be largest compilation ever created of biographical information on indigenous peoples from all areas of North America, it contains nearly 100,000 pages of content, including biographies, autobiographies, oral histories, reference works, manuscripts, and photographs. This database tells the life stories of well-known figures such as Sitting Bull but also lesser known individuals whose experiences further enhance the portrayal of Indian culture.

Search through historical documents, personal papers, and family histories held in archives around the world.

Thousands of libraries, museums, and archives have contributed nearly a million collection descriptions to ArchiveGrid. Researchers searching ArchiveGrid can learn about the many items in each of these collections, contact archives to arrange a visit to examine materials, and order copies.

    Entertainment Industry Magazine Archive (EIMA)
This digital archive is sure to receive rave reviews from those wanting to know more about behind-the-scenes activities of the music, film, and entertainment industries. By providing the complete runs of major trade and consumer magazines, from their inception to 2000, it arms students and researchers with the primary source material needed to develop a contextual understanding of the entertainment industry as it evolved over the 20th century.

Each magazine can be browsed cover-to-cover in full-page, full-text format. Users are able to search for original reviews, interviews, industry news, listings, charts and features relating to the full range of popular media using advanced search and retrieval functionality.

    Textile Technology Index
Originating in 1944, this database covers scientific and technological literature related to textile production and processing such as textile end products, manufacturing techniques and chemicals and dyes. The perspective is both current and historical, with some records going back to the 1800s. References and abstracts are given for over 400 journals and thousands of books, conferences, theses, technical reports and trade literature.
