    AtoZ the World
AtoZ the World contains profiles from 175 countries and hundreds of cities. Each entry features 20 different topics, including education, demographics, climate, culture and travel essentials. There are also special topics for travelers, such as health and safety, using phones and electricity internationally and tips for women travelers. Also included is current news feeds about the country or city from a variety of sources.

BrowZine is a web-based service and app for Apple or Android smart phones and devices that helps you browse through scholarly e-journals available from Milner Library. BrowZine sorts our e-journals into broad disciplines and then into narrower subjects. You can save and organize your most-used e-journals on virtual bookshelves in your account. The result is an easy and familiar way to browse through, read, and monitor scholarly e-journals across disciplines.

The Chicago Defender, a historical African-American newspaper, provides genealogists, researchers and scholars with online, easily-searchable first-hand accounts and unparalleled coverage of the politics, society and events of the time. Browse and search complete issues of newspaper, as well as obituaries. Includes the Chicago Daily Defender, the Daily Defender and weekend editions of the newspapers. Includes full text.

    Chicago Manual of Style
Encompassing the 15th and 16th editions, the Chicago Manual of Style Online offers the complete, fully searchable text of the traditional print version of The Chicago Manual of Style. Two additional files are included: Chicago Style Q&A, which is another fully searchable resource of questions and answers on citing and using the Chicago Manual of Style, and Tools, which provides help for authors preparing manuscripts for submission to the University of Chicago Press.

    Current Contents Connect 1998 to present
Current Contents Connect is a current awareness database. It provides access to tables of contents, abstracts and bibliographic information from the most recently published issues of scholarly journals as well as from relevant, evaluated websites.

    Data Citation Index 1900 to present
The Data Citation Index provides a single point of access to research data from repositories in a variety of disciplines and from around the world. It also tracks citations to data sets in published scientific literature.

    Digital Microfilm 2008 to present
Access microfilm newspapers online. Proquest Digital Microfilm collection includes the Chicago Tribune, the New York Times (Late East Coast Edition), Wall Street Journal (Eastern Edition) and the Washington Post (Final edition). The digital microfilm issues of the newspapers are exact facsimiles of the print edition and includes articles and advertisements.

When arriving at the site, click on "Select" to chose which newspaper to access. Each newspaper can only be searched by date and page number. Keyword searching is not available.

    Digital Public Library of America
The Digital Public Library of America (DPLA) brings together the riches of America's libraries, archives, and museums, and makes them freely available to the world. DPLA is a portal that delivers students, teachers, scholars, and the public access to incredible online resources, wherever they may be in America. Far more than a search engine, the portal provides innovative ways to search and scan through the united collection of millions of items, including by timeline, map, virtual bookshelf, format, subject, and partner. With an application programming interface (API) and maximally open data, DPLA can also be used by software developers, researchers, and others to create novel environments for learning, tools for discovery, and engaging apps. DPLA works, along with like-minded organizations and individuals, to ensure that this critical, open intellectual landscape remains vibrant and broad in the face of increasingly restrictive digital options.

    Journal Citation Reports 2010-
Journal Citation Reports is a comprehensive and unique resource that allows you to evaluate and compare journals using citation data drawn from over 11,000 scholarly and technical journals from more than 3,300 publishers in over 80 countries. It covers virtually all areas of science, technology, and social sciences.

Citation and article counts are important indicators of how frequently current researchers are using individual journals. By tabulating and aggregating citation and article counts, JCR offers a unique perspective for journal evaluation and comparison.

The JCR is published annually in two editions. The JCR Science edition contains data about journal in science and technology. The JCR Social Sciences edition has data about journals in the social sciences.

Kanopy Video provides access to nearly 20,000 online streaming educational videos and feature films. Many subjects covered but particular strengths include race and gender studies, communication, education, sociology, psychology, health sciences, and the arts.     March of Time
The films in this collection, produced from 1935 to 1967 and shown in theaters until 1951, are from the renowned March of Time series produced by Time, Inc. The collection includes both the "issues" (newsreels) and the "films" (non-newsreels) which cover an eclectic range of topics. Topics include racism, poverty and more. Included in the content are episodes such as Atomic Power, Inside Nazi Germany and the Supreme Court. This collection is complete and contains 434 video titles.

The New York Times (1851-2010) offers full page and article images with searchable full text back to the first issue. The collection includes digital reproductions providing access to every page from every available issue. Coverage: Sept 18,1851-Dec 31, 2010. Illinois Collection 1700s to current Library Edition is an extensive online database of 3,000+ historical newspapers from the early 1700s into the early 2000s. Distributed by ProQuest, it contains a diverse blend of well-known regional and local newspapers in the U.S. and other countries.

Developed by the University of Michigan Libraries, OAIster is a union catalog of digital resources. OAIster contains information on multidisciplinary resources from more than 1000 contributors worldwide.

Provides statistical tables and charts covering various aspects of social, political, and economic life. Emphasis is on the United States, but some tables cover regions, states, cities, and comparative international statistics. Information is gathered from all agencies of the federal government and from private, commercial, and professional sources. The Statistical Abstract of the United States is designed to serve as a convenient source for statistical reference and as a guide to other statistical publications and sources.
