    ProQuest Music Periodicals Database 1874 to present
This database provides indexing and abstracts for several hundred international music periodicals from over 20 countries. The database currently includes over 770,000 records, the majority from the most recent ten years of publication. Covers the full spectrum of subjects and all aspects of music, including music education, performance, ethnomusicology, musical theatre, theory, popular music forms and composition. Includes full text for more than 140 of the indexed journals.

Citations on international music corresponding to the printed RILM Abstracts of Music Literature. Updated monthly. Provides citations, abstracts. Includes indexing for conference proceedings back to 1835.

    Naxos Music Library
Provides online access to the Naxos, Marco Polo and Dacapo catalogues of over 85,000 tracks, including Classical music, Jazz, World, Folk and Chinese music recordings. Works may be selected by composer, artist, period, year of composition, instrument or genre. Playlists can be created. Also available is information about the works, artists, and composers. Updated continually. NOTE: Adobe Flash is the default player for Naxos Music Library. Please make sure you have Adobe Flash Player version 9 for MAC or version 10 for PC.

    Berliner Philharmoniker's Digital Concert Hall
Streaming video database with hundreds of concert videos from the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. New concerts are added every week and more than 40 live-streams are offered every year. Includes artist interviews and documentaries. Limit of three simultaneous users. Users must create a free account/log in.

    Met Opera On Demand: Student Access
Met Opera on Demand: Student Access offers users instant access to more than 500 full-length Met performances, including stunning HD videos from the Met's award-winning Live in HD series of movie theater transmissions, classic telecasts from the 1970s, '80s, and '90s, and hundreds of radio broadcasts dating back to 1935. Note: the current subscription allows 5 users at a time to access the database.

    Music Online: Classical Music in Video
The collection includes performances of all forms of classical music, including major orchestral performances as well as chamber music, oratoria and solo performances. Includes masterclasses and interviews of master teachers from around the world. Musical time periods included in the collection range from medieval to the present. Performances from the 1950s to the present are included. This growing collection currently includes 732 works, of 411 hours.

    JSTOR
JSTOR holds the complete digitized back runs of core scholarly journals, starting with the very first issues, and offers high-resolution, scanned images of journal issues and pages as they were originally designed, printed, and illustrated. Of the available JSTOR collections, Milner has 11 multi-disciplinary collections (Arts and Sciences I through XI) and two discipline-specific collections (Ecology & Botany, Health & General Sciences). JSTOR Current Scholarship Program provides subscription access to current issues of 34 journals within these collections.

    Project Muse Premium Collection
Provides full text access to journals in the humanities, arts, and social sciences from 60 scholarly publishers. Coverage and update periods vary. Provides citation, abstracts, and full text. Project Muse is a not-for-profit collaboration between the participating publishers and the Milton S. Eisenhower Library at Johns Hopkins University.

    Database of Recorded American Music (DRAM)
DRAM is a not-for-profit resource providing educational communities with on-demand streaming access to CD-quality audio (192kbps Mp4), complete original liner notes and essays from independent record labels and sound archives. DRAM's collection contains nearly 2,300 albums worth of recordings from a distinctive set of 15 independent labels, and more content is continually being added.

QuickTime 6.5.2 or later is the preferred player for DRAM streaming media.

    Jazz Music Library (Music Online)
This resource is the largest and most comprehensive collection of streaming jazz available online -- with thousands of jazz artists, ensembles, albums, and genres. Currently includes nearly 5000 jazz albums.

    Baker's Biographical Dictionary of Musicians
This work continues the tradition of offering the most comprehensive and authoritative information on musicians, along with interesting and insightful evaluations of their contributions to the musical world.

Based on the fifth edition of the printed reference work Daniels' Orchestral Music (5th ed., Rowman & Littlefield), Daniels' Orchestral Music Online provides information about more than 8,600 orchestral works by over 1,200 composers. Individual works in the database are linked to music publishers and other sources.

IPA Source is the web's largest library of International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) transcriptions and literal translations of opera arias and art song texts. Includes over 5067 texts including 835 aria texts!

BrowZine is a web-based service and app for Apple or Android smart phones and devices that helps you browse through scholarly e-journals available from Milner Library. BrowZine sorts our e-journals into broad disciplines and then into narrower subjects. You can save and organize your most-used e-journals on virtual bookshelves in your account. The result is an easy and familiar way to browse through, read, and monitor scholarly e-journals across disciplines.

    Entertainment Industry Magazine Archive (EIMA)
This digital archive is sure to receive rave reviews from those wanting to know more about behind-the-scenes activities of the music, film, and entertainment industries. By providing the complete runs of major trade and consumer magazines, from their inception to 2000, it arms students and researchers with the primary source material needed to develop a contextual understanding of the entertainment industry as it evolved over the 20th century.

Each magazine can be browsed cover-to-cover in full-page, full-text format. Users are able to search for original reviews, interviews, industry news, listings, charts and features relating to the full range of popular media using advanced search and retrieval functionality.

    Proquest Dissertations & Theses
Electronic edition of Dissertation Abstracts covering the complete range of academic subjects appearing in dissertations from over 1,000 accredited institutions since 1861. Citations from 1980 forward also include 350-word abstracts written by the author. Free twenty-four page previews for all subjects. Full text for dissertations in the Humanities and Social Sciences are available beginning in 1997; full text for selected dissertations prior to 1997 is available based on demand and author permission. Updated monthly.
