Board of Trustees of Illinois State University

On January 1, 1996, the Board of Trustees for Illinois State University became the governing body for the university. The goal of Senate Bill 241, passed by the 89th General Assembly of the State of Illinois, was to give more control of university affairs to the individual university. Eight members serve on this board, seven of which are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Illinois Senate. The eighth member is a university selected student.

Meeting minutes, reports, agendas, and resolutions, from 2013 to present can be found on the Board of Trustees website. Reports for 1996 to 2012 have not been digitized but are housed at the University Archives. To access these materials, call (309) 438-3546 or email archives@IllinoisState.edu.
