The Board of Regents of the State of Illinois convened on July 9th, 1967 with only a mention that this current board was created by the 75th General Assembly. In attendance was ISU's retiring president Dr. Robert G. Bone and ISU's president-elect Dr. Samuel E. Braden. This board would last until 1995 when all state universities would create their own boards to govern their activities. ISU would evenutally be governed by the Board of Trustees of Illinois State University.
