Milner Library is equipped to provide wireless access to the web and campus network. Wireless transmitters are located throughout the building. Signal strength may vary depending on distance from a transmitter and proximity to our book shelves.
When connecting to the wireless network, students, faculty, and staff members may choose between isunet (which requires a valid ULID and password) and isu-public (which does not require a user name or password). The isunet connection provides access to the campus network including shared drives.
The wireless network is designed to automatically configure your mobile device for wireless access when you first attempt to connect. Complete instructions are available on the University Campus Help Desk Mobile Computing website. If you encounter problems with these configurations you may visit either the Help Desk in Julian 115 (see Get Tech Support) or the TechZone Service Center located in Bone Student Center. Milner Library staff members can advise you about availability of the wireless network but are unable to assist with laptop configurations.
Printing from mobile devices connected to isunet is possible in Milner Library using uPrint Pharos software. The software is free and may be downloaded from the University Campus Help Desk. Files printed from mobile devices may be retrieved at any uPrint station located throughout library.
Ethernet ports are available on the main floor (Floor 2) and Floor 6 if you prefer to connect your laptop to the campus network using cable. On the main floor, ports are located in the northwest and southwest lounge areas (i.e., Bone Student Center side). On Floor 6, ports are located along the west wall (also the Bone Student Center side). Cables are not provided by the library.
