Utopian Spaces

November 9–December 4 | Floor 2
Closing Reception December 3 at 4pm

Utopian Spaces, curated by the ISU Art History Society, features work by undergraduate and graduate students. This show was designed to give students curatorial experience and to serve as a showcase for student work being done in the arts. Utopian Spaces was inspired by an Italian-American architect, Paolo Soleri, who built his own experimental town, Arcosanti, in Arizona. Soleri’s concerns about the environment and sustainable living are only one potential interpretation of utopia. For this exhibit, artists have composed pieces that show their idea of a utopian society in any artistic medium. It’s their utopian society, so however they want to depict it is their choice.
