Milner Library's preservation program supports the library's mission by ensuring continued access of materials for Illinois State University students, faculty and other users. The department is administered by a full-time Head of Preservation and University Archives and contains two operational units:
The Preservation Department also oversees disaster planning and training, and participates in special projects that impact the preservation of materials for Milner Library and for the libraries of Illinois State University's Metcalf School and University High School. The Department may be able to assist you in locating appropriate providers for repair, binding and disaster recovery services. Please see also Milner Library's Preservation Policy.
Milner Library's Center for Conservation and Preservation offers preservation and conservation services to all Illinois libraries. Under the direction of the preservation department, the Center performs treatments on library materials and provides training for library staff.
