I’m thinking about doing a digitization project and would like to use your services. What is my next step?
You can submit your project proposal to us via e-mail or phone us at 309-438-7535 to set up an appointment.

Will any of the digitized items be accessible in 5, 10 or 15 years from now?
We apply the latest archival standards and best practices to the file formats and storage media we produce. In order to assure long term access, we recommend periodic reformatting of files to current standards. We provide you with high quality files that can be reformatted later as you need to do so. Our scanning services provide a 24-bit uncompressed TIFF file, 600 ppi, 100% of the original, including one JPEG image for each scan.

What file formats does the MDC use?
TIFF, JPEG, and PDF are our standard formats. Should you require a different format, please contact the MDC.

What resolution do you use for scanning and photography?
Those decisions are based on the equipment that is used, what your needs are, and the standards and best practices we adhere to.
