Teaching and Learning at Milner

The Library's teaching and learning programming directly supports the library's vision of building a dynamic and multifaceted library integrated into University learning and research. To accomplish that vision Milner has given priority to focusing on advancing transformative teaching and learning and enhancing strategic partnerships across the university.

To enhance and enrich student learning and the research endeavors of Illinois State University students, faculty, and staff, Milner Library approaches teaching and learning based on Information Fluency and tiered learning outcomes. The overall Program Goals strive to achieve this via assessment, collaboration, and targeted initiatives.

We provide a wide variety of online learning opportunities such as numerous subject guides related to the programs and departments on campus. Listed below are a few general help guides to aid your research process or consult our How Do I…? section for your specific questions.

Faculty members interested in bringing students to the library or using our learning spaces, please consult the Teaching at Milner page and the Learning Spaces page. Additionally, the department or school subject liaison librarian may be contacted to explore a variety of collaborative teaching and learning opportunities including the development of a course guide.
